@goaty @falktx @trummerschlunk +1 for dropping eurorack. It adds more confusion than adhering to the niche audience that know what it is. You can add more information about what feature it has than a regular out of the mill synth

@samhenrigold Adobe is bottom of the food chain... AirBnB fits a lot better since they offers extremely competitive salaries

I had dreams about getting receiving steam deck in the mail and I was playing stardew valley on it ๐Ÿฅบ

One of my all-time favorite live acoustic albums. I miss the original band members ๐Ÿ˜ข

Itโ€™s wild to see people talking about how we need to have decentralized podcast platforms.

As if thatโ€™s not literally what podcasts were until Spotify and other platforms began to buy up and paywall podcast shows.

Hey maybe stop doing that.

I find it so interesting to see how every argument saying high refresh rates don't matter just dissipated as monitors got cheaper. Humans are weird, we have too much pride. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I wonder if audio quality will go through the same pattern. Spotify fanbois can change too, right?

One of the things I am most excited about in the OSS world is federation support in Gitlab: gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-org/-. Having a consistent identity across software projects and contributions has always been what git was designed for.

Started an install of ghost.org to take over the blog.sadmansk.com domain on my server. Sad to see that they discontinued postgresql support starting in v1.0 ๐Ÿ˜ญ

After 6 years of resisting, finally had to install mysql. Their security practices scare me ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

โš ๏ธ We are planning to release important security fixes for #Mastodon on February 3rd, between 13:00 and 15:00 UTC.

To make sure that most servers can upgrade swiftly, we will release the fixes both as v3.3.2 and v3.4.6 (they will, of course, be also available on the main branch).

To make sure the upgrades on those older versions require the least intervention, with just a process restart, we have just released preparatory releases v3.3.1 and v3.4.5.

Please upgrade!

@tuxicoman @unfa What is your usecase? How many inputs/outputs/pre-amps do you need? Budget-range?

@gamingonlinux that people who dual-boot windows just for gaming will stop and just run Linux.

Of course it did, and yet it stalled wayyy behind the inflation rate over the past year, and that's not even to say the historic stalling of wages behind inflation for decades causing massive inequality and in-affordability of basic goods:

My server setup has become such a mess. Somehow the network interfaces file got messed up after installing docker, and on restart it stopped connecting to the internet (or even my local network). Took too long to debug. I think it's finally time to splurge on a portable monitor so I don't have to haul my server across the room to my monitor and short HDMI cables.

Just discovered getgrist.com/. I have been on the hunt for an open-source alternative to Airtable that can also be self-hosted. So far I have tried out baserow.io, but it greatly lacks in features (veryy limited field types) and programmability.

Checked out some templates on the Grist website and it looks a lot more promising! Going to try it out on their website (it's completely free for personal use) since they provide a migration path for your data on to a personal instance.

@unfa i swept through the linuxmusicians forum for how some people got alsamixer to work, but i personally wasnt able to get it to work through kernel modules.

I have been leaning towards more and more hardware that has all the controls onboard, and audiofuse in that regard has been great, albeit some key features like advanced routing, etc. still being behind their control center software that only works on windows and mac. But it works great out of the box on Ardour and jack!

@unfa I ended up returning my scarlett 18i8 because of the controls being only through software. I have been using an Audiofuse Studio and am absolutely in love with it. Minus a few hiccups, it has been working great for me on Linux.
